Liam Mulryan. Yayzi? Olilo? What’s the sitch? 🧵

  • Thread Author
Hi everyone, Liam here. A lot of you may (or may not) recognise me as the founder of Yayzi, and are quite rightly questioning and wondering what and why Olilo exists — and what's happened with Yayzi. 🤔

To begin, I started Yayzi back in 2019. It was just me, with a big dream, to do broadband and make it better. I wanted to build a company that didn't treat people like idiots, didn't force contracts, no sneaky changes or pricing surcharges, no corporate fluff and nonsense.
And I did it! I got the dream going, Yayzi started growing and, as the team grew and our customer base did too, we became a national ISP. It wasn't perfect (and I, better than anyone, know that) but it was moving in the right direction! 🚀

So, what went wrong?
Well, to be clear... I left Yayzi of my own accord in February 2025. This stemmed from over a year of overwhelming pressures, changing goals, incorrect decisions, and a feeling of losing all control of the company I built.
The workload had gone through the roof. I was missing time with my family to handle all the changes in the company — with no support from new business partners, just pressure to perform and get the job done. Eventually, I felt like I was keeping everything together with duct tape and pure determination.

It wasn't what I wanted. This wasn't the dream. And I had to leave. 💔

Well then, why did you come back?
You know how they say almost dying can really put things in perspective? Well, it did. I had a fight with sepsis (and luckily won), and it was like a good reset on my attitude. During that experience, I realised I still had this dream: do broadband, and do it better.
And I wasn't going to give up on the idea that it can be done — and that I'd somehow be involved. So, with even more determination, lessons learned, and experience gained... Olilo was born! 🐣

And this time, we're doing it right. No contracts. No hidden fees. No fake smiles. Just fast, fair internet with a geeky backbone and a brutal honesty policy. It’s what I always wanted to build — finally done right, without compromise, and with the fire fully lit again.

And with this brutal honesty? We're not going to be perfect. But we'll make sure you're kept informed, that questions are answered, and that everyone is treated correctly. 🙌

So, with that — ask away. If you have questions, I’m here to answer! 💬
